KirKit
Community Guidelines
KirKit is where cricket players show what they can do and find the next match. It works because people can post without being harassed, and because anything that breaks that gets dealt with quickly. These guidelines say what is not allowed, how to report it, how to block someone, and what happens next. They sit alongside the Terms of Service, which is the binding version.
What is not allowed
There is no tolerance on KirKit for objectionable content or abusive users. Do not post, send, stream or share:
- Sexual content or nudity. Any sexual content involving a minor is reported to the authorities and the account is removed permanently and immediately.
- Harassment, bullying, threats, stalking, or a pile-on aimed at a player or a team.
- Hate speech, or attacks on people because of religion, caste, ethnicity, region, language, sex, gender, disability or sexual orientation.
- Violent, graphic or cruel content, or anything that incites or glorifies violence.
- Content that promotes self-harm or suicide.
- Illegal activity — drugs, weapons, stolen goods, illegal betting or gambling on matches.
- Match-fixing, spot-fixing, or pressuring a scorer to falsify a result.
- Impersonating another player, an organiser, an official, or KirKit itself.
- Spam, scams, phishing, or bulk unsolicited messages.
- Lies about a person, a team or a result, and falsified scoring.
- Someone else's private information — phone number, address, identity documents — without their permission.
- Malware, or anything meant to break or probe KirKit.
Some of this is caught before it is ever published: the text you type — captions, comments, chat and direct messages, usernames, bios, team and tournament names — is screened against a list of prohibited terms as you submit it, and is refused if it matches. Photos, videos and live video are not screened in advance. They are reviewed when someone reports them, which is why the next section matters.
How to report something
Every place a person can put content in KirKit has a Report action, on the same menu button. Tap it, choose Report, then choose the reason: spam, harassment, nudity, violence, hate, misinformation, copyright infringement, or something else you describe in your own words.
- A post — the menu button on the post in the feed.
- A reel — the menu button on the reel while it is playing.
- A story — the menu button while you are viewing it.
- A comment — the menu button on the comment, on posts and on reels.
- A direct message — the menu button at the top of the chat, or on the message itself in a group thread. Messages have no identity of their own to act on, so this reports the account that sent it.
- A live stream — the menu button on the stream while you are watching.
- A live-chat message — the menu button on the chat line. As with direct messages, this reports the account that sent it.
- A player's profile — the menu button on their profile.
- A challenge entry — the menu button on the entry inside the challenge.
- A team — the menu button on the team's page.
Reporting is confidential. The person you report is never told who reported them. Reporting the same item twice does nothing extra — one report per person per item is enough, and more reports do not make a decision go one way or the other.
How to block someone
Blocking is yours to use and does not need our approval. Open their profile, a chat with them, or the menu on anything they posted, and choose Block.
A block takes effect immediately and works in both directions: neither of you sees the other's posts, reels, stories, comments or live streams, neither of you can send the other a message, and any follow between you is removed. The person is not told that you blocked them, and nobody can see your block list.
To undo it, open Settings and go to Blocked accounts. Everyone you have blocked is listed there, and Unblock puts things back as they were — except for the follow between you and any friend request that was open when you blocked them, which are gone and would have to be made again.
What happens after you report something
Your report goes into a moderation queue that KirKit's own moderation team works through — real people, not an automatic filter. We aim to look at every report within 24 hours, and we go faster when a report involves a minor, a credible threat, or a live stream that is still running.
A moderator either dismisses the report, in which case the content stays up, or upholds it. When a report is upheld:
- A post, reel, story, comment or challenge entry is removed from KirKit and disappears from every feed, profile and search result.
- A live stream is ended while it is running.
- An account can be warned, suspended, or banned. A ban ends that account's sessions immediately, hides its posts, reels, stories and comments, and stops it signing back in.
Where the harm is serious and immediate we act first and finish the review afterwards. You will not usually be told the outcome of a report about somebody else — that is their account, not yours — but the content going away is the visible part.
If you think we got it wrong
Write to kirkit@khedmaidan.com from the account concerned, tell us what was removed or what happened to your account, and a person will review it again — not the same automated step, and not the same answer by default. If we agree we were wrong, the account is restored along with exactly the content the ban had hidden.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can escalate to our Grievance Officer, Pardeep, at kirkit@khedmaidan.com. We acknowledge grievances within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days.
Reporting copyright infringement
If something on KirKit uses your work without permission — footage, music, photographs, a logo — you have two routes. Inside the app, use the same Report action and choose copyright as the reason; it is a separate reason precisely so it does not land in the queue looking like a spam flag.
For a formal notice, write to kirkit@khedmaidan.com with:
- your name, postal address, email address and telephone number;
- what the work is, or a representative list if there are many;
- a link to, or a precise description of, the material on KirKit you want removed;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that this use is not authorised by you, your agent or the law;
- a statement that your notice is accurate and that you are the rights owner or authorised to act for them; and
- your signature, physical or electronic.
We acknowledge a complete notice within 24 hours and remove or disable valid material within 36 hours, and we tell the person who posted it what was removed and why. If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, send a counter-notice to the same address. Accounts that infringe repeatedly are terminated.
