Delete Your KirKit Account
This page explains how to delete your KirKit account and what happens to your information when you do. You do not need the app to make the request — the email route below works from any device.
Option 1 — delete it in the app
- Open KirKit and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm when asked. The deletion happens immediately and you are signed out.
Option 2 — ask us by email
Write to kirkit@khedmaidan.com from an address you can be reached at, with the subject Delete my account, and tell us the KirKit username and the mobile number on the account.
We will verify that the account is yours before we delete anything — usually by sending a one-time code to the mobile number registered on the account. We cannot skip this: without it, anyone who knew your username could delete your account. Once verified, we delete the account within 7 days and confirm when it is done.
Before you can delete: four things that block it
Deletion is refused, with a message telling you which one applies, while your account still holds:
- a wallet withdrawal that is pending or approved but not yet paid;
- a tournament you organise that is open for registration or currently running;
- a live match you are scoring; or
- a streamer booking that is pending, accepted or in progress.
Each of these either owes you money or leaves other people stranded mid-event. Complete or cancel them, then delete the account.
What deletion erases
Deleting your account is an erasure, not a hiding. The following are removed outright and cannot be recovered:
- Your mobile number, password and Google sign-in link. The number is released, so you could register a new account with it later.
- Your username is replaced with a random one, because it is what every screen falls back to once your display name is gone — and it is often a real name.
- Your display name, date of birth, photo, cover photo, bio, club, and every part of your location — country, state, district, tehsil, village, society. Your availability areas go with them.
- Your streamer and organiser profile details — bio, home area, contact number, logo and description.
- Your direct conversations — one-to-one chats are deleted entirely, with every message in them, on both sides. In group, team and tournament threads your own messages are deleted and you are removed from the participant list.
- Your likes, and your follows in both directions. You disappear from other players' follower and following lists.
- Your blocks, in both directions, so nobody is left invisible to anyone with no way to undo it.
- Your team memberships. If you were a team's captain, captaincy passes to the vice-captain, or to another member if there is no vice-captain; a team left with no members is archived.
- Your notification inbox, your notification settings and your push tokens, so your devices stop receiving anything from KirKit.
- Your usage events — the record of what you did in the app.
- Your comments on reels.
What is hidden rather than erased
- Your account row survives, emptied. It cannot be signed in to and identifies nobody, but it has to remain so that payments, tournaments and match records that reference it stay auditable.
- Your posts, reels, stories and comments on posts are marked deleted and disappear from every feed, profile and search result. The underlying records remain for a limited period so we can investigate reports and answer legal demands.
- Photos and videos you uploaded remain in our media storage after the content that referenced them is hidden. They are not served in the app, and are removed on request.
What we keep, and why
We would rather be exact about this than promise more than we do.
- Payment, wallet, ledger and refund records are retained for at least eight years, because Indian tax and company law requires it.
- Identity-verification records — the verified name, date of birth, gender, masked Aadhaar number and the result of the check — are retained for five years after the account closes, or longer where the law requires, to evidence the checks behind money we paid out. Your Aadhaar number itself was never stored.
- Consent records — that you accepted the Terms and the Privacy Policy, and which version — are retained as evidence of that consent.
- Reports you filed and reports filed about you are retained so that moderation decisions can be reviewed.
- Match statistics you recorded or that were recorded against you remain part of the match and tournament record, so results and other players' careers stay correct. They no longer name you.
- Challenge entries you posted remain in the challenge they belong to; ask us if you want one taken down.
- Server logs and diagnostics are retained for a limited operational period and then deleted or aggregated.
- Live stream recordings held by our streaming provider are retained until they expire or are removed on request.
Asking for more than the app deletes
If you want your uploaded media erased from storage, or want anything else erased that the in-app deletion leaves behind, write to kirkit@khedmaidan.com and say so. We will erase everything we are not legally required to keep, and tell you specifically what we kept and why.
